Change Position

Change Position is a special Function of crew members. To learn about other functions go the Space Ship Functions section of the Space Ships page.

Description

This allows a crew member to take the roll of an officer. If the crew member is already an officer, then it takes one round to switch roles/positions. This action may require a roll, depending on the ship's condition. In an emergency, the crew member can ‘Rush’ the Change Position action. They take an acrobatic skill check, DC 10 + GM mods for the condition. If successful, the crew member gets to the position in time to act. The Captain has the special ability to take over any ship position instantly, even if he has already acted in the Support Phase. However, doing this means the Character is now in that new position and is no longer the Captain; to resume the Captain role would require a standard Change Position action.
