Perform
You are skilled at one form of entertainment, from singing to acting to playing an instrument. Perform is Rank Dependent. The higher the Rank, the more money earned from the Performance, and the more likely your character is to become popular for their performance skills.
Each Rank in Performance increases the Credit Score of a Character by 1, and the financial outcome of a successful performance is doubled.
- NOTE
- All ranks in Profession are instantly added to Profession. Perform can also gain Ranks by spending points on it. Perform doesn't have the usual Rank-level limit rules.
Each of the nine categories of the Perform skill includes a variety of methods, instruments, or techniques; a small sample of each is provided below.
| Perform DC | Performance |
|---|---|
| 10 | Routine performance. Trying to earn money by playing in public is akin to begging. You can earn 1d12 + Skill Rank Credits/day. |
| 15 | Enjoyable performance. In a prosperous city, you can earn 3d12 + Skill Rank Credits/day. |
| 20 | Great performance. In a prosperous city, you can earn 5d12 + Skill Rank Credits/day. In time, you may be invited to join a professional troupe and may develop a regional reputation. |
| 25 | Memorable performance. In a prosperous city, you can earn 8d12 + Skill Rank Credits/day. In time, you may come to the attention of noble patrons and develop a national reputation. |
| 30 | Extraordinary performance. In a prosperous city, you can earn 12d12 + Skill Rank Credits/day. In time, you may draw attention from distant patrons, or even from extraplanar beings. |

Check
You can impress audiences with your talent and skill in your chosen performance type.
A masterwork musical instrument gives you an advantageous circumstance bonus on all Perform checks that involve its use.
Action
Varies. Trying to earn money by playing in public requires anywhere from an evening's work to a full day's performance. The bard's special Perform-based abilities are described in that class's description.
Try Again
Yes. Retries are allowed, but they don't negate previous failures, and an audience that has been unimpressed in the past is likely to be prejudiced against future performances. (Increase the DC by 4 for each previous failure.)
Special
