This is the history of the species of Jove. For more species within the Great Ring Galaxy go to Species page.

Species: Jove The Jove are an interesting race. Game wise I would recommend not allowing players to role characters as Jove. This being that they are all dead and the only thing left of them is there technology. The advanced artificially intelligent machines that travel the galaxy. They died a long time ago. Possible millions of years ago. Its unknown what caused their death. They did know that it was coming. And they setup a plan. They built and sent forth there advanced machines across the, at the time immature, galaxy. The Jove robots or JBots as later species would nickname them would tell you that the Jove sent them out to be stewards of the galaxy. Help nurture it as new species get warp capabilities and start to expand. To help insure peace and stability.

However this is not the case. At least not completely. The Jove really aren't dead. They never even originated from this galaxy. They are intergalactic empire and they slowly seed out there rule in different ways to different galaxies. In this galaxy they have setup there machines to do all the dirty work.

Of course nobody in the whole galaxy knows a thing. All say the JBots are natural polite and caring. Some get annoyed by them. Don't like the fact that they aren't even flesh, not carbon in anyway, not even alive too there standards. Some find them just a little too pleasant and thus have an instinctual response of distrust. Though most people would call those who distrust the Jove just paranoid or the people who don't count them among the living as being too old fashion. There are others who distrust them for all sorts of reason. Nobody.. not even machines.. not even advanced artificial intelligent robots from a super powerful "dead" race of "peaceful" Jove can please everyone.

The Jove, and when I mention them I am referring to the ones known in our little corner of the Universe as really the Jove Robots and not the ones lurking around the nearest galaxy, have become involved with galactic politics and trade sense.. well sense most races first journeys into deep space. The Jove are the only ones to have completely, or at least they say they are, navigate all of the livable space within the Milky Way Galaxy and thus have been monitoring a decent portion or all sentient races.. every race from cave dwellers too smart scientist discovering artificial gravity for the first time. The secret reason for all of this involvement with the MWG and its inhabits is solely for the benefit of the true Joves else where. Who plan to one day occupy those lands and rule those peoples. But too these ignorant inhabits Jove is a neutral group of predictable robots following only there programing which seams to be that of peace. Which many species over there years has found quit useful to have JBots present during negotiations. Many races have over the years coined phases bases on this relationship. For example: "Bring Jove... bring Peace" or "My word is a good as Jove" or "As trusty as a Jove". The list goes on.

One thing some creatures my find annoying about the Jove is there mechanical process even in social issues and there strict code of logic. Even though they are machine they can sometimes come off as arrogant and prideful. Some people feel like they might be looked down upon when they disagree with a Jove.

The Jove first introduced themselves to Humans just a few months after Humans lunched the first FTL drive probe into deep space. Jove has cataloged the Humans thousands of years prior and had sense observed them every 500 years until it seamed necessary to observe in quicker intervals. Some species seam to almost jumped into space like baby bird out of its nest once they hit a certain point in there evolution. So keeping a close eye was a long learned Jove tradition.
